Dr. P Gopalakrishnan has extensive global experience in the management of technology development and innovation. He is currently the Vice President, IBM India Software Lab (ISL). In this capacity he oversees product development and technology innovation efforts of a team of several thousand engineers spread across five cities in India. Prior to this, role Dr. Gopalakrishnan was Director, Discovery Solutions in the Information Management division of the IBM’s Software Group, in which role he brought together key capabilities in text analytics and data mining in the software product portfolio.
He has over 20 patents to his credit and has published extensively in peer reviewed technical conferences and journals. Dr. Gopalakrishnan received his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1986.
