Finalists for SmartCamp Bangalore Announced

This week the five finalists for SmartCamp Kickstart in Bangalore, India were announced.  Congratulations to all!  See below for more information on each company.

Imaginate Software Labs – Imaginate’s product for retail, TrialAR, is an intelligent digital apparel and jewelry trial and marketing platform, where shoppers can instantaneously and effortlessly try out a variety of items by just standing in front of a digital display, such as an electronic mirror.  TrialAR unleashes a unique opportunity for the retailer to quantitatively and qualitatively understand the shopper’s mindset in addition to giving the flexibility of showing apparel which is not in-store.  TrialAR is a patent-pending innovative product from Imaginate.

Linksmart Technologies – smartDNA is patent pending technology for tamper detection and anti-counterfeiting, delivered in the form of smart labels and purpose-built scanning solutions.  This is unique technology is a new paradigm in tamper-evidence, as it auto-acquires its credential only at the time of application and is auto-lost on removal. Billions of unique combinations are possible which are unique per-piece despite using identical labels.  For instance, in logistics operations, once the smartDNA label is applied on a shipment, the scanner can prove whether shipment has been opened during transit from any sides/edges by an insider or outsider.  It can detect concealed loss and prove that claimed loss has indeed happened during transit or not with techno-legal evidence for insurance claim investigations.  The integrity status computationally derived from smartDNA labels applied on the shipment is shared on a centralized portal and through other means like SMS/email etc.  Thus accountability between point of packaging, points of transit and point of delivery can be easily established.

Winhire Technologies - Social Media Recruitment on IBM Smart Cloud – Winhire used the cloud computing model to establish a new approach and business model to support corporate recruiting.  With talent acquisition among the top concerns of most enterprises globally (per Gartner CEO and CIO surveys in 2011), this video, social platform, mobile technology and life-cycle based recruitment approach is proving to be a strong differentiator for its early client base.  The business model combines the value propositions of YouTube, Facebook, mobility and the cloud to differentiate itself in the recruitment process by providing a virtual “face to face” experience for candidates and recruiters.

Wifinity Tech – Wifinity is an Energy Efficiency venture providing next generation intelligent wireless demand-side management solutions.  Wifinity’s solutions enable enterprises – campuses, buildings, facilities, etc. to save roughly 20% of utility & water bills.  Wifinity provides a gainshare and managed service business model to customers – potentially generating thousands of dollars per month from each enterprise installation.  The solution is completely wireless, making it easy to install, mount, etc. This in turn lowers the total cost of ownership to the customer.  Customer sectors include: Healthcare institutions, Large IT campuses, Office buildings and branch offices. The solution helps by using a common platform of bi-directional wireless sensors that talk to a common base-station controller, which pushes data to the Wifinity Application residing on the cloud.  This in turn enables monitoring and controlling of lighting, HVAC, and water to facilitate more than 20% savings for the enterprise.

Yonyx Infomedia – First level customer support agents in call centers across industries repeat similar information over and over with different customers.  Yonyx’s solution helps SMEs at these organizations express this information in the form of multimedia flowcharts that customers can traverse one step at a time starting from the problem symptom to the underlying cause and its corresponding solution without having to interact with a live agent.
