Who’s Who at SmartCamp Tel Aviv: Judges

Less than a week to go until the public session for SmartCamp Tel Aviv on Oct. 23rd, where our five finalists will compete to win. Michal Blumenstyk-Braverman                                              General Manager of Global Solutions & Israel GM RSA, The Security Division of EMC

Michal Blumenstyk-Braverman is the RSA Israel General Manager and Identity Protection and Verification (IPV) business owner. The IPV suite includes Risk analytics and anti-fraud and CyberCrime products and services and the 24X7 Anti Fraud Command Center. The IPV cloud has more than 300,000,000 registered users. During Michal’s tenure, RSA Israel grew from 90 to 380 people and the IPV product line became RSA’s second largest business.

Blumenstyk-Braverman came to RSA via the Cyota acquisition, where she started in 2003 as the VP of Product Management and later became the Cyota Chief Operating Officer, until RSA acquired Cyota in December 2005 . Prior to Cyota, Blumenstyk-Braverman was the VP of Product Development for RadView, Inc., which she joined in December 1995. Prior to that, Blumenstyk-Braverman held various R&D management positions in both Israeli and American companies. Blumenstyk-Braverman started her career as a student researcher in the IBM’s T.J. Watson research Center in NY.

Blumenstyk-Braverman holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Columbia University, where she graduated summa-cum-laude, and she graduated the Top Executive Program in Management in the Tel Aviv University, the Recanati Graduate School of Business.

Dr. Daniel M. Yellin                                                                      Director, IBM Mobile Platform Development and Israel Software Lab

Dr. Daniel M. Yellin is the Director, IBM Mobile Platform Development and Israel Software Lab, and an IBM Distinguished Engineer.   Previously he was Director of Software Technology at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

Dr. Yellin joined IBM in 1987 after completing a doctorate in computer science at Columbia University. He has authored over 30 journal and conference papers as well as two computer science books and has held numerous positions in professional associations.   He currently serves on the IBM Academy of Technology Leadership Team.

Rubi Suliman                                                                                  Partner, Technology Leader, PwC Israel

Rubi is an assurance partner at PwC Israel and the Technology leader.

Rubi joined the Israeli firm in 1997 and has an extensive experience with hi-tech companies, multinational corporations, SEC registrants and venture capital funds, to which he provides professional services in assurance, tax, business consulting and public offerings mainly in the US.

In 2002-2004, Rubi worked at PwC’s offices in New York, where he served as a Senior Manager responsible for the IBM engagement and other SEC registrants, venture capital funds and private hi-tech companies.

Rubi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an LL.B in Law, both awarded by Tel-Aviv University. Rubi is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in Israel.

Steffi Czerny                                                                                Managing Director, DLD

Steffi Czerny is Managing Director of DLD Media and co-founder of the DLD Conference as well as its global spin-offs DLDwomen Conference, DLDfestival in Tel Aviv, DLDmoscow and DLDcities in London.

Joining the Burda group in 1995, Steffi held several executive posts in new media activities. Her background is in political sciences and communications.

Steffi has followed developments in the digital world for over 20 years and focuses on developing branding and communication initiatives.

In 2010 Steffi was identified as one of Germany’s 25 most influential business women by Financial Times Germany for her success in bringing the international digital elite together at DLD.

Prof. Israel (Izzy) Borovich                                                           Dean, School of Management & Economics, The Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo                                                                                 Chairman of the Board, Ayalon Highways Co. Ltd

Since 2011, Prof. Borovich has been the Dean at School of Management & Economics in the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo. Prof. Borovich is also Chairman of the Board at Ayalon Highways Co. Ltd since 1998, a member at the Board of Directors in the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya and a member at the board of Directors in Kenes International. Prof. Borovich is  Professor Emeritus of Information Systems at Tel Aviv University.

In the past, Prof. Borovich has held a long list of roles, among them:

  • Chairman, Board of Trustees, Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sport (2008-2012).
  • Member of the Board, El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (2005-2011).
  • Chairman, Alut, The Israeli Society for Autistics Children (2008-2011).
  • Member of the Board, ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (1997-2009).
  • Chairman of the Board, El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (2005-2008).
  • Chairman, Board of Governors, AFEKATel-AvivAcademicCollege of Engineering (2006 – 2008).
  • President & CEO, Arkia Israeli Airlines Ltd. (1989 – 2005).
  • Member of the City Council of Tel Aviv, member of the City Executive Board and head of the Transportation Division (1998-1993).
  • Director and Founder, The Center for Research and Management of Transportation, TelAvivUniversity (1992-1993).
  •  Bs.C. Industrial Engineering, Ms.C. Industrial Engineering, Ph.D. Operations Research.
